I didn't like those thin slices. I was hoping for some steak. Other than that all good! They make these baked potatoes that are so good you could live on them alone! The horse radish and the gravy were also highlights for me.Definitely going back as I now know what to expect.Oh, by the way, those 2 sausages that come with the king size plate... So small that it looks like your plate is cracked!
In my experience, always amazing service and amazing food. These guys strive for high standards. One of the better Toby Carverys.
We went for dinner on Sunday evening.. I thought the service was ok for the below reasons. Staff felt like they didn't wanted to be there, we were standing at the front desk to be seated, one person was on the phone, three people were standing behind the bar looked confused.Then we got taken to our table that had not knife, fork etc.. So they then took it from the next table.. But they also wanted us to sit in a section that had no people (you don't go to restaurant just to eat, it's about the experience).So then I asked to be moved, however on top of that they didn't even bother to ask if we have ever been to Toby Carvery, so they can explain how it works...Anyway I would like to give 5 out of 5 stars to the kitchen, chef and the nice guy that serving the food at the meat counter, he was very friendly, chatty ... And he even went and got us a nice fresh gammon from the kitchen.The food was very nicely cooked and it was all fresh and hot..And for that reason I would definitely go back, but it would be nice if the front desk team could learn from the chef team..So thank you chef..
food cold. no heating in the pub. it was freezing. ate what we had quickly to get out asap to go to the car to warm up
The best breakfast in town. You cannot beat for value for money. The staff are great too. If you are anywhere near give it a try. You won't regret it.
